What’s my story?
People often ask me about my journey — looking back, around, and ahead. It began in 2007, when I moved to Delft to study and later joined Mecanoo, a large and vibrant international design office filled with creativity, energy, and opportunities.
Life is a series of choices and crossroads. After 16 rewarding years, I chose a new path and founded deDomo.
What has always stood out to me is the value of collaboration. Better design happens when creative minds work together — not only within a design team, but also across disciplines. This belief lies at the core of deDomo’s mission.
deDomo’s approach is practical, grounded, and personal. We respect functionality and budget while ensuring that each design reflects a unique space identity. By using simple, local materials with a creative twist, we craft spaces that are fresh, meaningful, and tell a story. To me, good design is calm but never dull; refreshing, yet enduring.

what’s the deDomo origin story?
deDomo originates from my earlier work, where I spent years closely involved with a space first known as DoMo (Documentatie en Monsters), later called the Material Library. It was the place where digital technical specifications and physical samples were collected and archived — a shared resource that shaped design decisions and built collective knowledge.
Through DoMo, I learned how real materials and clear documentation transform ideas into buildable architecture.
When I founded my own studio, I wanted a name that reflected DoMo’s essence. By adding the Dutch article ‘de’, DoMo became deDomo — a name that carries that spirit forward into a new context.
